Dr. Ben Gates
Benjamin Gates graduated from Whitman College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University in Chicago in 1998. He is an accredited lecturer on the subject of dental implants and restoration.
Dr. Gates has been recognized as one of the area’s best dentists—as voted on by his peers—and listed in Spokane/CDA Magazine for the last six years. His dental practice emphasizes a conservative approach to meeting patients’ needs, focusing on same-day restorations, cosmetic dentistry, and the use of dental implants.
Dr. Paige Landers
A Coeur d'Alene native, Dr. Paige Landers earned her Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience from Montana State University in 2004 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2008.
Immediately after graduating, Dr. Landers was excited to return to her hometown of Coeur d'Alene. She joined her father-in-law's dental practice, which had served our community for over 30 years. Soon after, she joined Dr. Ben Gates and has been part of North Idaho Dental Group since 2010.
Dr. Landers loves making long-lasting relationships with her patients and providing a wide array of high-quality dental care to meet their needs. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, including root canal therapy, Invisalign, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, soft tissue grafting, and oral surgery. Dr. Landers is dedicated to excellence and takes pride in providing the highest level of dental care and staying up to speed with new dental technologies.
Dr. Landers enjoys spending free time with her husband Brian (her personal adventure guide) and their children, Chloe and Bridger. The family enjoys all four seasons and everything our beautiful town offers, including skiing, fly fishing, and playing on Lake Coeur d'Alene in the summer.
Dr. Chace Mickelson
As an Idaho native, Dr. Chace Mickelson graduated from Idaho State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. He later attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where he received the National Health Service Corps Scholarship and graduated with his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2014. Following dental school, Dr. Mickelson and his family returned to their Idaho roots, and he has been practicing dentistry in the Coeur d’ Alene area since.
Dr. Mickelson and his wife Sasha have two incredible little girls—Arden and Liv. Together, they love to experience all that North Idaho offers, from incredible hiking and biking to relaxing on the many lakes in the area.
Dr. Mickelson is thrilled to be a part of the North Idaho Dental Group team, and his goal is to provide exceptional, state-of-the-art dental care in a relaxing and comfortable environment.
Dr. Hatta Clark
Dr. Hatta Clark attended South Dakota State University College of Nursing, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and RN status, graduating in 2006. She subsequently obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2011 from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.
Dr. Clark joined North Idaho Dental Surgery’s Ponderay office in 2021 and enjoys making connections and collaborating with patients to improve their oral health.
In her free time, Dr. Clark enjoys family, skiing, fishing, and boating.
Amy started in the dental field in 1990, working as an assistant. When she joined NIDG in 2012, she did insurance billing, then became the office manager in 2015. She attended completed her certified dental assisting training at TriTech Skills Center.
Amy oversees daily production and scheduling and is involved with patient care, treatment planning, patient billing, finance options, payroll, and anything else needed! Her favorite thing to do is complex treatment planning and ensuring patient satisfaction when their case is completed.
Outside of dentistry, Amy loves spending time with her family and traveling anywhere it's warm.
Heather attended the American Institute of Health Technology and has been a member of the NIDG dental team since 2004. Her goal as a hygienist is to help people enhance and improve their oral health by providing a quality dental experience.
Heather’s duties include providing routine cleanings, periodontal therapies, x-rays, fluoride applications, oral hygiene instructions, and informing patients on OTC oral hygiene products. She most enjoys making personal connections with her patients and helping connect the dots between systemic and oral health.
When she’s not helping patients, Heather is a coach with AIM Nutrition Coaching, wife to a firefighter, and mom to two active girls. They enjoy an active lifestyle outdoors, traveling, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
Felicia graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and joined NIDG in 2016. As a hygienist, she provides periodontal therapy, x-rays, local anesthetic, fluoride applications, and sealants. She is also passionate about providing patients with the best care while making them feel comfortable during their hygiene visits.
Felicia is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys spending free time with her family and friends.
Mercedes attended North Idaho Community College, Spokane Community College, and Eastern Washington University and joined our dental team in 2018.
She provides adult and children’s cleanings, periodontal therapy and maintenance, scaling and root planning, x-rays, anesthetics, and fluoride treatments. Mercedes’ favorite part of the job is working with patients and determining the appropriate treatment needed to improve their oral health.
At the end of the workday, Mercedes enjoys coming home to see her cows and cleaning out the barn for her horses, who bring her so much joy.
Courtney started in the dental field in 2001 and enjoyed many years working as an assistant. She loved her job, but after 11 years decided to fulfill her goal of becoming a hygienist and attended hygiene school at Southwestern College in San Diego, California.
Courtney joined NIDG in 2018, and her duties as a hygienist include patient education, periodontal therapy, taking x-rays, and fluoride application. Having a great appointment always includes oral health topics, but Courtney believes that connecting with patients about their hobbies and life makes them well-cared-for.
Outside of the office, Courtney and her husband keep busy with their two little daughters. They enjoy the outdoors as much as possible, and you’ll find them kayaking on the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River in summer and skiing in the winter.
Sasha attended Idaho State University and has been a dental hygienist since 2007 and enjoys connecting with her patients and catching up with what’s going on in their lives. She joined North Idaho Dental Group along with her husband, Dr. Mickelson, in 2018.
Running a dental office keeps them busy, but outside of work, Sasha and Dr. Mickelson are raising two wonderful kids and one crazy puppy!
Rebekah joined the NIDG dental team in 2021. She has been working in the field since 2007, when she attended Lake Washington Technical College for her hygiene training. Some of Rebekah’s duties as a hygienist include taking x-rays, performing periodontal screenings and therapy, regular cleanings, children’s cleanings, and fluoride treatments
Rebekah loves being in nature and enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and spending time at the lake, to name just a few!
