There are plenty of fun things to do year-round in Ponderay and nearby Sandpoint. Whether you enjoy hiking the trails, camping under the stars, or skiing in winter, we’ve got you covered.

Of course, we want you to enjoy the great outdoors, but remember your dental health during these fun adventures.

Your Ponderay Dentist’s Smile Survival Guide

If you’re planning to hike, camp, or ski, we recommend the following as part of your smile survival guide:

  • Stay Hydrated: Always pack a water bottle and be sure you have access to refills. Water is always better for your smile and hydration than juice and soda.
  • Wear a Mouthguard: If you’re hiking treacherous terrain or skiing a bumpy slope, consider wearing your custom mouthguard for added protection.
  • Make It Portable: Roughing it in the woods is no reason to skip brushing and flossing. Remember to pack a travel-sized toothpaste, toothbrush, and floss.
  • Schedule a Checkup and Teeth Cleaning: If you plan to spend a long time in the woods or camping, chances are there will be s'mores and other campfire treats that aren’t good for your teeth. Consider scheduling your next checkup soon after the trip.
